Since Donald Trump returned to power in January 2025, the United States has once again plunged into an immigration policy marked by fear, racism, and institutional violence.
We are living through dark times, marked by systematic terror against our migrant communities. ICE continues executing its malignant ‘duty,’ hunting us in the streets at gun point and abducting our friends and family. Meanwhile, politicians from every party rush to release statements, pose for photos, and promise they’ll “do something.”
Today my chest hurts. It hurts to see how those who only came here to work and live in peace are being persecuted. This morning in Los Angeles, federal ICE and FBI agents carried out well-coordinated operations, as if they were going after dangerous criminals. But what they did was go after workers—after migrants who keep this city running with their labor.
