Ways to Support Immigrant Workers Now
Petition: Tell DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Protect Immigrant Whistleblowers from Retaliation!
On July 6, 2022, the US Department of labor issued guidance, in the form of an FAQ, for immigrant workers denouncing workplace abuse and unsafe work conditions. But DHS has yet to take a formal position or issue guidance on the policy. It is urgent that DHS stand by its word and announce its policy to protect immigrant whistleblowers from retaliation.
Today, workers nationwide are taking action to demand worker migrant justice.

Petition: Tell CA Governor Newsom to Sign AB2847, the Excluded Workers Pilot Program, into law!
The Safety Net 4 All Coalition encourages you to email Gov. Gavin Newsom and ask that he sign Assembly Bill 2847, the Excluded Workers Pilot Program, into law. AB 2847 will provide unemployment benefits to workers who are ineligible to receive unemployment insurance solely due to their immigration status. Without the support of essential safety net programs like unemployment insurance, excluded immigrant workers have been forced to exhaust their life savings, accumulate greater debt, and compromise their health to simply afford basic necessities like shelter and food if they lose their job.
