We Love you LA
LOS ANGELES, CA – This is a call to action to everyone. We need you. We need your help. Today. Now.
If you are a person of conscience and you care for your community, the most vulnerable, please go to the streets, to Home Depot, outside the courts and to the places of work where our people are, you need to protect day laborers today.
Go to Home Depot, any Home Depot near you, and stand with the immigrants who are being seized and taken away.
We need you, the people, to stand with immigrants. To say to ICE and this administration — we will not tolerate this injustice.
If you are privileged, if you are a citizen, if you are not at risk of deportation, please go.
Please go in peace. Do not bring violence. Do not cause violence. There are provocateurs who want to justify violence and brutality. Do not be one of them.
We are calling you to nonviolent resistance. Do not engage in violence. De-escalate violence wherever you can. Avoid violent people and situations. Do not attack others. Do not make yourself an agent or a target of violence.
We are calling on everyone who can safely join us. But if you are at risk of deportation, please stay home. Please don’t go out. It is not safe for you.
Bring your courage and anger, but please leave your hatred at home. We are acting out of love. This is not the time to promote ideologies.
Please be witnesses. Take pictures. Document everything. Take names. Remember what you see. Get the names and numbers of those who are taken away. We need to reach out to relatives of those who have been seized. These are our people they are taking, and we do this work out of love for them, for their worth.
Please be safe and find safety in numbers. The courts have failed us. The politicians have failed us. The media have failed us. It appears that everyone has abandoned immigrants. We are a community under siege.
All we have now is the streets. Taking to the streets to oppose fascism, hatred and violence.
We will do this responsibly. We will be orderly and peaceful at all times. At all times.
But we will not be silent. We will not be deterred. We will not back down. We will not stop. We will continue this struggle until we win.
If you cannot be in the streets, you still have a responsibility. Call your federal representatives and demand they act now to protect our communities and stop the violence of ICE.
