In the face of dehumanizing lies and racist politics, immigrant workers and families are coming together to reaffirm the love, courage, and strength in immigrant communities – and to defend their human rights, from the bottom up.
Somos Más Popular Committees
Because, only the people save the people! Porque ¡solo el pueblo salva al pueblo!

Host a Popular Assembly to Defend Migrant Rights!
Across the U.S. communities are hosting popular assemblies in defense of migrant families to bring together migrants and allies who are committed to organizing for the protection of themselves and their communities. The goal is to mobilize locally and connect through a shared agenda addressing both local and national challenges.
These assemblies play a crucial role in helping individuals cope with fear by cultivating a strong sense of community, identity, and shared purpose. Together, we can stand resilient against adversity and work towards a brighter future for all.
Ultimately, the Asambleas are the launching point for the Comités Populares, the grassroots collectives, rapid response networks, and organized worker committees that have been instrumental in resistance, care, and community strength in the past, allowing communities to speak for themselves and dream of a brighter future. Rooted in cultural fuerza and heritage/historical memory, these committees represent an age-old strategy for problem-solving and community building.
Migrant Defense Committees
Our Migrant Defense Committees are the heart of our movement—autonomous, led by migrant workers, and self-sufficient. Decisions stem from the collective voice of el pueblo. Each committee fosters people’s power alongside institutional and corporate structures, ensuring that every member shapes their community.
Our committees are:
→ Membership-Driven: Committees are structured with rotating roles, including coordinator, treasurer, and media contact.
→ Empowerment Through Assemblies: Members convene through Asamblea Popular gatherings to exercise decision-making authority.
→ Cultural Pride and Connection: We share identity, and promote a culture of courage and mutual support.
We envision forming 500 committees over the next decade, cultivating a new generation of leaders who learn from experienced organizers and from their own communities.
