LOS ANGELES, Aug. 12 — The artistic collective Contra-ICE has announced the release of a new album of music, spoken-word performances and comedy that will support the resistance against the federal government’s campaign of anti-immigrant hate and violence.
The following is a statement from Ishell Linares, Development Director of NDLON, the National Day Laborer Organizing Network:
“In these times of inhuman cruelty and terror, it’s wonderful to know that musicians and artists are in the struggle, leading us to a better world: a world without ICE. Congratulations to Contra-ICE, which is releasing ‘Contra-ICE Vol. 1: ICE OUT.’
“We are honored and thankful that Contra-ICE, a project of Build Art Make Change, is contributing proceeds from the record to the human-rights organization Unión del Barrio and to NDLON.
“We are grateful, too, to the more than 30(!) artists who have contributed to the record. Thank you!”
