Friday Is Statewide Day of Action from the ICE Out of NJ Coalition in Six Towns and Cities
NEW JERSEY — On Friday, March 27, beginning at 7 AM, ICE Out of NJ, a coalition of grassroots immigrant rights organizations and community members across New Jersey will launch a statewide Day of Action demanding that local and state officials take immediate action to protect immigrant communities and end collaboration with ICE.
At the center of the action is the “Justice Bus Tour,” a powerful and widely recognized symbol of resistance in New Jersey. Traveling from South Jersey to North Jersey, the bus will make six stops in key towns and cities, hosting rallies, press events, and community gatherings that uplift urgent demands and mobilize residents.

WHERE: Six stops across New Jersey, including Atlantic City, Trenton, Freehold, New Brunswick, North Bergen and Roxbury. Full schedule available upon request.
WHEN: Friday, March 27th, 2026, from 7 AM to 8:30 PM.

WHO: Immigrant rights advocates, community leaders, impacted residents, and representatives from DIRE, Resistencia en Acción, Casa Freehold, Cosecha New Jersey, Semilla Roja, CATA, New Labor, NDLON, AFSC New Jersey, Estamos Unidos, and El Pueblo Unido of Atlantic City.
Community members and Latine-led organizations across New Jersey are uniting to demonstrate collective power and fight the erasure of immigrant voices. Across six cities, the tour reflects a growing demand: ICE OUT OF NJ. At each stop, organizers will uplift stories and call on officials to enact community-driven protections.
New Jersey’s immigrant communities continue to face deportations, family separation, and aggressive enforcement tactics that undermine safety and dignity. Since January 2025, more than 60 individuals have died in ICE custody nationwide, underscoring the urgency of action.
“New Jersey leaders continue to ignore the violence and fear ICE is inflicting on our communities daily,” said Jorge Torres, Organizing Director of NDLON. “This Justice Bus Tour is a call to action. Our officials must pass the protections that community members are demanding. We demand ICE OUT OF NJ.”
“This tour is about showing our collective strength, solidarity and power across New Jersey,” said Amanda Dominguez of New Labor. “We are demanding protections created for us and by us at both the local and state level. Communities must be heard and their demands acted on.”
“In the fight for justice, we stand united: siempre en la lucha. We refuse to let ICE terrorize our families. Together, we are the voices our community needs,” said D. Hernandez, Executive Director of Casa Freehold. “We want everyone to feel safe and not have to live in fear of being separated from their families.”
“What we are witnessing is the erosion of fundamental constitutional rights,” said Asma Elhuni of Resistencia en Acción NJ. “We are taking action because due process is being stripped away from our communities every day. People are being handed over to ICE without hearings. The Constitution must apply to all of us equally.”
Organizers are calling for: no police/ICE collaboration or surveillance (No Polimigra), no detention center contracts, an end to raids, limits on ICE access to public resources, and full legal funding for immigrant communities.
Media will have opportunities throughout the tour to capture visuals of the Justice Bus and interview organizers and impacted community members.
From Organizers: On Wednesday, March 25, the NJ Government signed bills that we have been pushing for as a community, but due to the carve outs, these protections are not enough! Today we got bills signed; Thursday we rest, but on Friday we’re back on the streets with our Bus tour continuing the fight for real protections by our Communities. Join us as we state the people’s demands.
