REACTION: “Trump will continue to weaponize immigration, will Democrats show up to fight back?”

Los Angeles, CA – The National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON) released the following statement in response to Donald Trump’s attacks on sanctuary cities during the State of the Union address:

“We welcome Trump’s announcement that he will bring attention to his failed war on sanctuary cities. It only makes the case stronger for localities across the country.

“His grotesque nativism, from the floor of the US House, only confirms the decision of hundreds of cities to cut ties with ICE.

“We know Trump will continue to weaponize immigration, the question is whether Democrats will show up to fight back, and utilize what power they actually have.”
