Los Angeles, CA—On Saturday at noon, thousands of Los Angeles residents plan to march in protest of Trump’s attacks on immigrants and to call upon city leaders and elected officials to enact a model sanctuary city policy, with no exceptions. The protests come days after Trump ordered home raids to arrest over 680 people nationwide and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security conceded they now consider all 11 million undocumented immigrants to be “criminal aliens.”

“We march today because we know where our power lies – it’s here, locally.  And it is here at the city and state level where we need to make sure our officials are doing what they can.  No excuses, and no exceptions,” said David Abud, Organizer for the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON).

“No one should now doubt that extremists are in the White House, and no one should be falling into the trap of dividing immigrants into the ‘good ones’ and the ‘bad ones’.  Our city should reflect our California values.”

This march and rally is endorsed by: National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON), Black Lives Matter Los Angeles (BLM LA), Union Del Barrio (UDB), California For Progress (CAFP), Brand New City Los Angeles (BNCLA), Immigrant Youth Coalition (IYC), We March Party, AIM SoCal, March and Rally Los Angeles (MRLA), National Lawyers Guild (NLG), LA 4 Palestine, Association of Raza Educators, ANSWER Coalition, Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Idle No More, Papalotl Brown Berets, Party for Som and Liberation (PSA), School of Americas Watch (SOA), Democratic Sots of America (DSA), SoCal 350, La Original Hermandad Mexicana, Progressive Asian Network for Action (PANA), Climate Hawks Vote, International Action Center (IAC), RevLA, Code Pink, Eastside Greens, Homies Unidos, Workers World, Bernie Sanders Brigade (BSB), Long Beach 350, The Immigrant Defenders Law Center, California Nurses Association (CNA), Jews for Palestinian Right of Return (JFPROR), Radical Valkyries, Food & Water Watch, East Los Angeles Community Corporation (ELACC), Al-Awda: Palestinian Right of Return Coalition, Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights Los Angeles (CHIRLA), Service Employees International Union (SEIU), South West Asian-North Afrikan Los Angeles (SWANA-LA), The Immigrant Magazine, Labor for Standing Rock, Frente Indígena de Organizaciones Binacionales (FIOB)
