Los Angeles, CA – In reaction to the vote in the House of Representatives today, Chris Newman issued the following statement on behalf of NDLON:

“The country resoundingly opposes the administration’s deportation policy.   People of all backgrounds are disgusted by ICE’s brutality, incompetence, and cruelty. So why are Democrats mysteriously divided on what to do? What part of “ICE OUT of our communities” don’t they understand?   Senator Schumer and Representative Jeffries need to be leaders of the opposition — or they need to get out of the way. The people have shown what they want — ICE OUT — they deserve leadership that respects the anger, fear and urgency that people are feeling right now.”
