Happening this Saturday, March 5th!

Pasadena tenants, community members, and allies are walking together to spread awareness about the necessity to have rent control and to urge voters to vote in favor of renter protections for those currently feeling the economic inequality that has widen during this pandemic.

We have situations where Pasadena renters have to work 60-70 hours a week to cover rent and other necessities. Parents have to work 2-3 jobs to provide for their family. During this pandemic, families have lost their head of the household due to COVID.

49% of Pasadena tenants are rent-burdened (spend over 30% of income on rent). This has displaced many families who had been living in Pasadena for decades. In the last few years’ we have seen what effect the exodus of families has caused in Pasadena Unified school District with the closure of school due to the low attendance rates.
