In the midst of Racist Tirade, John Kelly Agrees TPS Holders Deserve Citizenship

Los Angeles, CA – Last night, John Kelly, President Trumps Chief or Staff and former Secretary of Homeland Security said in an NPR interview that TPS holders should be given a path to Citizenship.

In Response, Pablo Alvarado, Director of NDLON issued the following statement:

“John Kelly’s statement puts the Trump Adminstration in a bind. It creates an obligation for Trump to either offer his own legislation to provide political equality for TPS-holders or to support Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez’ legislation – American Promise Act – which would do just that. When Trump’s own Chief of Staff, himself an unmasked racist, acknowledges that Central American TPS holders should have a right to remain in the US, that fact alone should be evidence that there is a moral imperative to change US policy immediately.”
