MEDIA ADVISORY

PASADENA, Calif., May 4 — In the face of loss and heartbreak, our community will gather in remembrance—and in the enduring strength that lives within us. On Tuesday, May 5, community members, families, artists, and organizers will come together at Villa Parke to honor the lives of those we have lost— while grief is real, so is our love, our memory, and our collective spirit.

We will gather to remember that no one is alone. We will gather to remember that memory is an act of love—and that in grief, there is space for connection, for culture and for the light we carry  forward. We will honor those abducted and separated from their families, those who died during the fires, and the workers who die every day providing their labor. We will make sure these lives are not forgotten. That we are still here, together, remembering—and still finding ways to uplift one another.

Through building altars, music, culture and the power of community together, we affirm that joy and connection are not separate from grief—they are how we carry each other through it. Our presence, our voices and our unity are forms of resistance.

People who come together are the people who endure.
