Reasonable Suspicion!

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 23 MSNBC reports that Tom Homan, the Administration’s border czar and chief apologist for ICE’s racial-profiling violations of the Fourth Amendment, was caught on tape accepting $50,000 from undercover FBI agents. He allegedly took the cash in return for promising to help the agents win government border-enforcement contracts in a second Trump term.

According to MSNBC, the federal investigation was launched after a subject of another investigation “claimed Homan was soliciting payments in exchange for awarding contracts should then candidate Trump win the presidential election.’”

But then President Trump won the election and the investigation was dropped.

The following is a statement from Pablo Alvarado, Co-Executive Director of the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON):

“Suspected lawbreaker Tom Homan keeps insisting that ICE agents in masks can attack immigrants on the street because being brown, speaking Spanish and doing manual labor add up to ‘reasonable suspicion’ that they are criminals.

“You know what creates ‘reasonable suspicion’? Taking $50,000 in cash from undercover FBI agents. This is the same person who said ‘I don’t care what the judges think’ after judges ordered the Administration to stop illegally deporting Venezuelans.

“Homan’s disdain for the law, human and civil rights and the Constitution are absolutely clear. It appears that in this administration every accusation is a projection. Every lie they tell about immigrants deflects from the truth – that this regime is corrupt, racist and irredeemably anti-democratic and anti-immigrant.

“We won’t stop telling the truth and defending immigrants from suspicious people like Tom Homan. Only the people save the people. Solo el pueblo salva al pueblo.”
