What’s Really Happening at the Border? A New Video Exposes the Truth Behind the Political Rhetoric

Los Angeles, CA — With the ongoing political debate over the U.S.-Mexico border, conflicting narratives from both sides have left the public wondering: Is the border truly open or closed? In response to these growing concerns, Radio Jornalera and the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON) are proud to release a new video that seeks to expose the truth behind the border debate and challenge the misleading rhetoric that dominates public discourse.

As people continue to migrate towards the United States, and politicians fuel divisive conversations, migrants are left navigating increasingly dangerous conditions at the border, with little regard for their humanity. Despite political promises and finger-pointing, one thing is clear: many lives are at risk as policies become harsher and the path to asylum more treacherous.

The video highlights the contradictions in what politicians say versus what is happening on the ground. While some claim to welcome immigrants with open arms, the reality often points to increased border militarization and dangerous policies that put migrants in harm’s way. The debate over whether the border is open or closed overlooks the fact that for many, the journey is filled with peril, and survival is uncertain.

“Our goal is to cut through the noise and get to the heart of the matter,” says Manuel Vicente, Director of Radio Jornalera. “This isn’t just about political posturing; it’s about real lives being affected every day. We need to expose the lies being told about the border and immigration and highlight the human impact of these policies.”

The video invites viewers to reflect on the true cost of the political games being played at the border and the devastating effects on immigrant communities. By watching and sharing, viewers can help challenge the dominant narrative and advocate for a more just and humane approach to immigration policy.
