“Immigration policy is work policy,” AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka told the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON) conference in Los Angeles this morning. The AFL-CIO stands “shoulder to shoulder” with immigrant workers, Trumka said, to beat back the enforcement of anti-immigrant initiatives on the state and local level that are a threat to the rights of all workers. – AFL-CIO 02.22.2012
