Press conference on Thurs., 9/24, at 8:30 a.m. outside federal courthouse on 350 W. 1st St.
Los Angeles, CA — On Thursday, September 24, plaintiffs in Vasquez Perdomo v. Mullin — a case challenging the Trump administration’s immigration raids in Southern California — will host a rally and press conference before a federal court hears arguments on plaintiffs’ request to block racial profiling and suspicionless stops by federal immigration agents.
The hearing will address a preliminary injunction motion that was filed by plaintiffs that included an expansive evidentiary record, including government communications, body-worn camera footage and sworn testimony by federal officials, showing that agents relied on race in deciding whom to stop. The court will also hear argument on plaintiffs’ request to certify two proposed classes.
Following the hearing, attorneys and plaintiffs in the case will be available for comment.
