NDLON Reaction to Confirmation of Marty Walsh for Labor Sec.

New York, NY — In response to Senate confirmation of Marty Walsh for US Labor Secretary, NDLON Co-Executive Director Nadia Marin Molina made the following statement:

“We are grateful Secretary Walsh is finally on the job. We hope he gets to work immediately, with his existing statutory authority, to ensure that the DOL plays an active role in advancing rather than undermining immigrant rights.”

NDLON has called on President Biden and now Labor Secretary Walsh to “re-imagine and re-build” the US labor department, beginning with deferring the deportation of workers that have filed labor complaints.
