NDLON Statement in Reaction to News that VP Harris will head immigration reform:

Los Angeles, CA – In response to President Biden tapping Vice President Kamala Harris to lead on immigration, NDLON General Counsel Chris Newman made the following statement:

“We welcome this news. Not only does it constitute a reset of sorts after 20 years of congressional failure, four years of Trump, and 63 days of a stumbled rollout from President Biden, but it also reflects the fact that more leadership from California will be required to reform and modernize our federal immigration law, policy, as well as the national debate which has continued to go off the rails in recent weeks.”
