MEDIA ADVISORY

PASADENA, CA — Immigration rights advocates, elected officials, and legal representatives will hold a press event tomorrow to announce that Isaac Antonio Villegas Molina has been released after one week of ICE incarceration following a federal court’s grant of a Temporary Restraining Order challenging his unlawful re-arrest by ICE.

Speakers will address Mr. Villegas’ case, the broader implications of the Vasquez Perdomo v. Mullin lawsuit, and continued concerns over unlawful immigration enforcement practices, retaliation against outspoken workers, and the need for accountability.

Mr. Villegas, a day laborer and plaintiff in the Vasquez Perdomo case, was arrested twice by ICE under circumstances his legal team argues were unconstitutional. His most recent arrest occurred just days before a critical immigration hearing in his case and appeared aimed at preventing judicial review of earlier alleged violations. A federal court has now intervened, affirming serious concerns about the legality of ICE’s actions.
