NDLON Response to Gov Newsom Appointment of Rob Bonta to California Attorney General

In response to news that Governor Gavin Newsom has named Rob Bonta for California Attorney General, NDLON Campaign Director Salvador G Sarmiento made the following statement:

“We welcome Governor Newsom’s decision naming Rob Bonta for California AG, a leader that immigrant communities have for years counted on to advance the California consensus against collusion with ICE, for workers and migrant justice, and for criminal justice reform, including, most recently his introduction last year of the California Vision Act. Today Sacramento is the best place to continue to advance that progress and also, to reframe the national debate.”
