While immigrant workers have been sacrificed to keep the U.S. economy running, the Biden administration and Congressional leadership have responded by passing a budget that provides $23 BILLION to expand the already bloated migrant prisons and deportation machinery at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). All while continuing the bipartisan tradition of chronically underfunding the institutions that protect workers, including OSHA– the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
These misplaced budget priorities guarantee continued exploitation and retaliation against immigrant workers, and add to the detriment of the entire U.S. working class.
